Online Individual Coaching / Training

Coaching / Training vs. Counseling -
What's the Difference?

Academy Hour offers online coaching and individualized 1-on-1 training sessions.  These sessions are not counseling sessions, and are not covered by insurance or reported to your supervisor unless the session is specifically coordinated and paid for by your supervisor or HR department as part of a progressive discipline process.

1-on-1 coaching/ training sessions are designed to help you talk through issues, concerns, life events, or just address an incident or situation that you may need to work on.  You will be listened to, you will not be judged, and your information and the discussion will remain confidential (exception is the progressive discipline situation).

Counseling, as a contrast, is designed to help assess, diagnose, and set up a treatment plan for a particular concern.  Coaching and training do not offer this type of diagnostic assessment, nor set up a treatment plan.  Each individual coaching session is a conversation, with the goal of addressing a specific topic or need in that moment.

Aside from employer-assigned progressive discipline sessions, no record will be kept and no ongoing treatment plan will be implemented. You are assured confidentiality and privacy re: your discussion unless we feel a life is in danger (yours or someone else's) or if a reportable crime is discussed.

We are here to help, to support, to encourage, and to walk you through finding solutions.

Progressive Discipline & Employee Training

Employee (discipline) issues take a lot of time and energy for supervisors and human resources personnel. A neutral party can help alleviate a lot of employee conflict and be a welcome resource, with sessions customized to your employee's specific issues and training needs.
We offer 30- or 60- minute one-on-one online training sessions customized to each employee, with written documentation provided to you afterward.

Convenient

Just like online doctor and therapy visits, our sessions are done in text-chat or video-call format. You and your employee will appreciate the convenience of this method of talking through issues and concerns, and the confidentiality & neutrality of a third party provider.

Documented

Protecting your business is key. We start with documentation from you about the situation and your specific employee's needs. If requested, we'll then document the session with a discussion summary, and the decided go-forward action plan, and send that to you for your records.

Affordable

Less expensive than a doctor, lawyer, therapist or mediator, our 15-, 30- or 60- minute sessions are effective & efficient.  Employees will focus on the issues, set goals and plans, and get back to work. Session cost: $50 for 30 minutes, pre-purchased & billed monthly.

First Responders

This online coaching service is available for you, post-call, post-incident. If you've had a difficult scene to deal with, or are struggling in any way, make an appointment and chat with the coach.  It helps to talk things out.
